Workshop - Sustainable Textile Teach-In: Creative Mending and Repair

Discover visible mending! Learn low cost & creative ways to repair clothing & textiles inspired by the Japanese technique - Sashiko Mending About this Event Join Marnie Saskins & Tanya Murdoch of Works-In-Progress along with the Textile Museum of Canada and other virtual participants on October 24, 2020 from 2-3:30pm Eastern Time (ET) as part of this year's programming for EcoFair Toronto which will take place during Canada's National Waste Reduction Week. In this interactive workshop, you will learn to repair textiles with techniques that bring new life to old clothes by vibrantly showing your stitching. Have jeans with holes that you want mend or perhaps a small stain that could be covered by simple embroidery or patching? You can apply these techniques to any textile - tablecloths, socks, pillow cases, a favorite bag, jeans, sweatshirt etc. This workshop is one of 12 free and exciting online events organized by EcoFair Toronto.
