The City of Grande Prairie and Aquatera Utilities Inc. are hosting a free community event called the Drop & Swap to kick off Waste Reduction Week. The community is encouraged to participate in the Drop & Swap event by donating new and gently used clothing to the event or shopping for items they need in their closet.

There is no requirement to drop off items to participate in the swap, but attendees are asked to bring their own bags to reduce waste. Items left over from the swap will be collected by Goodwill Industries of Alberta and brought to the Grande Prairie facility where they will be available for purchase.
