Waste-Free Lunch ChallengeWaste-Free Lunch Challenge

The Waste-Free Lunch Challenge is a school program developed by the Recycling Council of Ontario. During Waste Reduction Week in Canada (Oct. 17-23, 2016), Waste-Free Lunch Challenge encourages schools to decrease the amount of garbage they produce, and educates students, staff, and parents about waste reduction.

The challenge, which can be integrated in Ministry of Education curriculum, is open to Ontario classroom and schools from junior-kindergarten to grade eight. Register online and access user-friendly information and a suite of downloadable teacher and parent resources to make participation easy, enjoyable, and informative. Register at www.wastefreelunch.com. Registration closes Oct. 17, 2016 at 5 p.m.

3RCertified

3RCertified is a points-based certification program for buildings in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (IC&I) sectors that reviews how organizations manage solid waste reduction and diversion operations. Participating organizations achieve certification levels based on established criteria and third-party evaluation of waste management and reduction practices.
