Waste Reduction Week in Canada is a national environmental campaign that builds awareness around issues of sustainable and responsible consumption, encourages choice for more environmentally responsible products/services, and promotes actions that divert more waste from disposal and conserve natural resources. Walmart Canada is the lead sponsor of Waste Reduction Week in Canada 2016. Walmart has committed to Zero Waste and is dedicated to waste and recycling education for the entire country.

Waste Reduction Week in Canada takes place during the third week of October every year. Although the campaign has now ended for 2016, we encourage Canadians to stay involved in waste reduction by accessing our stakeholder resources or by hosting and registering a waste reduction event

3Rs Eco-Art Challenge

Poster submission deadline extended to Dec. 23, 2016! 

Looking for a creative activity to contribute to Waste Reduction Week in Canada? 

Elementary school students and eligible youth groups across Canada are challenged to design a creative poster that promotes the 3Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle. The winning entry will be showcased as the national Waste Reduction Week in Canada poster for 2017 and receive $1,000 for their school or organization! More Information
